I am constantly asking questions from the people I surround myself with, striving to be a better REALTOR® for my clients, but also to be better for the industry as a whole.”

Kylee Garza has always thrived in sales. Starting her career at 16 years old, she sold everything from boots and western wear to cattle panels and squeeze chutes. After a sales career that would make any Texan proud, she spent a few years working behind a desk, but came to realize that the nine-to-five job was not for her.

“I had always had a fascination with real estate and learned very quickly that I truly loved helping people purchase the biggest and most expensive dream we all strive for,” she says. “My husband had a construction company at the time building custom barndominiums. It was a perfect match, and we helped each other grow both our businesses.”

When Kylee first started up in real estate, she worked for a top-producing agent in her area, picking up on the industry challenges and learning how to overcome them. She also immediately started volunteering with her local Women’s Council, and says that they taught her what it really meant to be a REALTOR®.

“We have the power to change our industry not only for ourselves but also for our clients,” says Kylee. “We as REALTORS® are doing so much more than helping people to buy and sell homes. We are the voice for all our clients, and it’s our job to advocate for all homeowners in our state and nationally.”

Kylee has since held numerous positions in the state and local Women’s Council networks, including 2019 president of the state network and is currently president of the Brazos Valley network. She has been involved at her local association on the TREPAC Committee, the Governmental Affairs Committee, the REALTOR®/Builder Committee, and was co-facilitator for the 2018 Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program, of which she is a 2017 graduate.

She has also been involved at the state level as 2019-2020 appointee to the Political Involvement Committee and in the state Young Professionals Network, where she sits as committee liaison this year.

Kylee’s commitment to the industry is what she says sets her apart from other REALTORS®.

“I will never strive to be the number one agent in my area, because giving back to the real estate industry is just as important to me as selling real estate,” she says. Her commitment is to help improve the industry and its perception in the public’s eye—to help others understand that the industry is made up of personal connections that can’t be replaced by automation or digital service.

“I am constantly asking questions of the people I surround myself with, striving to be a better REALTOR® for my clients, but also to be better for the industry as a whole.”
