Every day you will learn something new in this industry. And that keeps it so interesting and alive and fresh and exciting each day to see what’s in store.”
Nick Kline is a seasoned agent, with over 15 years in the industry. He started his career working for a lender, getting hands-on experience with agents and mortgage brokers. In 2007 during the subprime meltdown, the bank closed. Undeterred, Nick took it as an opportunity to earn his real estate license.
“In 2009, I finally gained traction and haven’t looked back,” he wrote. “What I didn’t know back then is what it meant to be a REALTOR®; to so uniquely be the part of the process in changing someone’s life. To be such a strong part of our local and national communities. The vital roles that we play are so important. And I’m honored to be a beacon of that vital importance.”
Nick has been actively involved in his local, state, and national REALTOR® communities. He is a Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program graduate, and went on to put those leadership skills to good use. He was president of the Collin County Association of REALTORS® in 2017, making him the youngest president in the association’s 62-year history. He was co-founder of the Texas Young Professionals Network and several other local networks. He has also been on the Texas REALTORS® Executive Board and Board of Directors, in addition to numerous other committees at the local, state, and national level.
“What I love about our Texas REALTORS® community is we are family,” he says. “Frequently at our events, it is so fun to meet someone, and moments later you’re already hugging.
“The REALTOR® family is strong. The Texas REALTORS® family is even stronger.”
Nick has had several influential mentors over the span of his career, including one who has had an influence on his personal and professional life.
“This mentor taught me to never give up, to stick my feet in the ground, to nicely disagree and point out alternative solutions, to keep a smile, and to try as few words as possible, which I’m still working on. I realize just how incredibly blessed I am to have people in your corner. I think the lesson of this pandemic that we are in is to cherish those relationships, and even more so now.”
And Nick remains a mentor to others, hoping to inspire them to do great things in their careers and make connections with the community around them.
“Now I tell new agents what it truly means to be a REALTOR®,” he wrote. “That it is so much more than helping people buy or sell homes. That you are making a true difference in everything that you touch and participate in. And the key is to participate … to be involved, to vote, to invest, to learn, to teach, and to bring joy to others.
“That is the REALTOR® way.”
