May 05, 2015 — Austin
In honor of national moving month in May, the Southwest Movers Association has partnered with the Texas REALTORS® to encourage Texans to hire the professionals when moving and buying or selling a home.
Scott Kesner, 2015 chairman of the Texas REALTORS®, explained, “Every day, more than 1,600 people move to Texas and many more move inside its borders. Texas homebuyers and sellers need trusted partners on their side who can help navigate our state’s competitive housing market and ensure a successful move. The Southwest Movers Association shares this commitment with the Texas REALTORS® and a partnership with them is a natural fit.”
Both the Texas REALTORS® and the Southwest Movers Association have advocated for the protection of Texas consumers for nearly 100 years. The Southwest Movers Association’s Pinnacle Movers certification program recognizes moving companies that are committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards and levels of customer service. Texas REALTORS® go beyond what’s required of real estate agents by state law to uphold the respected REALTOR® Code of Ethics and ensure Texas remains a great place to own, buy, and sell real estate.
John D. Esparza, executive director of the Southwest Movers Association, added, “Texas has the sixth-highest number of moving company complaints in the country. May is the busiest month for the moving industry and, unfortunately, for criminals posing as licensed movers. We’re excited the Texas REALTORS® has joined us to spread the word about rogue movers during this busy selling season.”
Starting in May, the Southwest Movers Association and the Texas REALTORS® will run a statewide advertising campaign encouraging homebuyers and sellers to rely on the trusted professionals – Texas REALTORS® and Pinnacle Movers – directing Texans to texasrealestate.com/move where they can find both a Texas REALTOR® and a Pinnacle Mover, and learn how to have a safe, stress-free move. The advertisements can be seen online and heard on major radio stations throughout the state this summer.
On Monday, May 4, members of the Southwest Movers Association, Texas REALTORS®, Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, and Better Business Bureau hosted a national moving month kickoff event at the Texas Capitol. The event showed Texans how to protect themselves and their belongings when moving, and select a moving company they can trust.
